Lexeco is a commercial contractor that focuses on heavy highway construction work. We perform work in the following areas: excavation, grading, site preparation, removal of existing structures, soil stabilization, aggregate bases, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, as well as many other areas.
To supply quality, service, and value to our customers in a highly professional manner, at a competitive price - not only in the products we deliver, but in the process it takes to complete the projects as well.
Leavenworth Excavating and Equipment Company, Inc. was formed in 1959, to provide grading services. Lexeco was owned and operated by Eldon & Marguerite Luehring and David & JoEtta Kaaz.
In 1964, Eldon & Marguerite Luehring were killed in an automobile crash while on vacation in Mexico. Following this personal loss, David and JoEtta accepted the responsibility of operating Julius Kaaz Construction Co. and Lexeco. Through their hard work and dedication, each business continued to grow and prosper.
In 1979, Stephen L. Kaaz (son of David and JoEtta) joined the company with a degree in Construction Science Engineering.
In 1984, Greg D. Kaaz (son of David and JoEtta) joined the business. His degree in civil engineering brought expanded expertise and growth to Lexeco, Inc. In 1998, Steve and Greg purchased the businesses from their parents. Under their direction, the companies continued to grow in size and capacity.
Greg's son, Matt has a degree from Pittsburg State University in Construction Management and has been working for the company since 2005. Greg's daughter, Lauren completed her degree in Business Management and Information Technology from The University of Saint Mary in 2011 and is working full time for the company.
In March of 2014, Greg obtained full ownership of Lexeco.
With his leadership, the founding principles of safety, quality, integrity and honesty remain a priority; and Lexeco will continue to provide high quality construction and customer satisfaction at a fair price into the future.
